What is special about the roasting "Coffee Brothers"

Coffee solutions and training concepts - From coffee cultivation to roasting to preparation

Roasting coffee properly - Röstlich Brothers is the perfect combination. They want MORE. They don't just want to offer great and exceptional coffee, but above all they want to thank the coffee farmers for their great work. Their aim is to take sustainability seriously and to align their actions accordingly. For them, organic farming and fair trade are a matter of course! They believe that this is the only way to ensure optimal coffee quality and that only so many people in the production chain can benefit. On this basis, a roasted cup of coffee is not only a delight in terms of taste and aroma, but also a guarantee of a clear conscience and compassion.

There is of course a story behind these great roasters

A stay abroad in Honduras got everything rolling. The host family founded the COMSA coffee cooperative in Marcala. This is one of the two cooperatives from which we get our coffee today.

Even back then, we were told that we should bring coffee to Germany at some point. We could never let go of this idea. After many sleepless nights, completing a bachelor's degree and an intensive study of coffee, we were convinced. We are going to start our own business!

No sooner said than done. Together with my brother, we visited wonderful Honduras in 2017 and were able to get to know the COMSA coffee cooperative and the Peñalva family in person.

We were shown everything from the journey of a coffee cherry, starting on a plantation, through the various processing processes, to loading the coffee sacks into the container. Hospitality is very important in Honduras.

The most memorable moment? The first cup of coffee. On farmer Ruiz's coffee plantation. At an altitude of 1800m. We had never drunk coffee like that before. The very distinct aromas of candied orange and milk chocolate combined with the floral note were unique. It became clear to us: We have to bring Marcala's coffee to Germany.

Sustainability – ECOLOGICAL. ECONOMIC. SOCIAL.

The Röstlich Brothers coffees are grown organically, without artificial fertilizers, monocultures or pesticides, and processed under the highest quality standards. Our coffee cooperatives maintain quality standards and are in a constant development process.

However, it is not just the quality of purchasing that is important to the Röstlich Brothers, but also the quality of production and logistics. They roast in a traditional drum roaster. The lower stress on the coffee bean and the longer development time lead to a significantly better aroma development. For an intensive coffee enjoyment, they only have coffee in their range that has been rated with a coffee grade of at least 80 cupping points.
